En 2024, j’ai rencontré Sophie et Mikhail alors qu’ils étaient tout juste fiancés. Presque un an plus tard, j’ai eu l’immense privilège de les retrouver pour photographier leur grand jour en Estrie.

Pour l’occasion, ils ont choisi de s’unir au chalet familial de Mansonville. Dans la famille de Sophie depuis plusieurs décennies, ce lieu représente une grande partie de son histoire. Ils ont donc décidé naturellement d’y tenir leur mariage. Avec ses 150 acres de forêt et de fleurs sauvages, le terrain offrait en plus un décor parfait pour une célébration intime et champêtre.

Les amoureux et leurs proches ont mis tout leur cœur pour créer un mariage à leur image. En effet, ils ont organisé une garden-party inspirée des plus beaux magazines. Au programme: tasses en poterie faites par la maman de la mariée, flamants roses décoratifs, jeux extérieurs et magnifiques bouquets de fleurs cueillies à même la propriété.

Après un first look dans la forêt, Sophie et Mikhail ont rejoint leurs invités au milieu du pré pour la cérémonie. Comme tout se déroulait dehors, nous redoutions la pluie. Heureusement, Dame Nature leur a offert un soleil éclatant! Une fois unis, nous avons réalisé des portraits de couple et de famille sur la propriété. Les fleurs sauvages combinées à la lumière chaude de la fin de l’été créaient une ambiance absolument divine.

Puisque le chalet était trop petit pour accueillir tout le monde, la réception s’est ensuite tenue dans une auberge à Sutton. Les nouveaux mariés ont partagé un délicieux repas avant d’ouvrir la piste de danse. Impossible de ne pas tomber sous le charme de ce mariage en Estrie dans un chalet si chaleureux et authentique!

Looking for a wedding photographer in the Eastern Townships? This cozy Estrie cottage wedding might be exactly what you’re dreaming of.

In 2024, I met Sophie and Mikhail shortly after they got engaged. Almost a year later, I had the immense privilege of seeing them again to photograph their wedding day in Estrie.

For the occasion, they chose to say their vows at the family cottage in Mansonville. The property has been in Sophie’s family for several decades and holds a special place in her heart, so choosing it as their wedding location felt completely natural. With 150 acres of forest and flowery meadows, it offered the perfect backdrop for an intimate celebration with a charming countryside feel.

Sophie and Mikhail, along with their loved ones, poured their hearts into creating a wedding that truly reflected who they are. They hosted a beautiful garden party inspired by the best magazine editorials. Highlights included handmade pottery mugs created by the bride’s mother, decorative flamingos, fun outdoor games and stunning wildflower bouquets gathered directly from the property.

After a first look in the forest, the couple joined their guests in the meadow for the ceremony. Since everything was held outdoors, we were a little nervous about the weather. Thankfully, Mother Nature gifted them with bright sunshine! Once they said « I do », we took their family and couple portraits around the property. The wildflowers paired with the warm late-summer light created an absolutely magical atmosphere.

Once we were done, the reception then took place in a rental inn in Sutton since the cottage was too small to welcome everyone inside. The newlyweds shared a delicious meal with their guests before opening the dance floor. It was impossible not to fall in love with this warm and authentic Estrie cottage wedding!
