Au début de l’été, Valerie m’a contactée avec une idée toute spéciale. Son amoureuse Mackenzie et elle planifiaient un voyage à Montréal. Valerie souhaitait en profiter pour lui faire sa demande en mariage au Jardin botanique, un lieu aussi romantique que symbolique. Évidemment, j’étais emballée à l’idée de capturer cette belle surprise!

Dans les semaines précédant la séance, nous avons planifié chaque détail en secret: l’heure du rendez-vous pour coïncider avec celles du jardin, l’endroit exact pour la demande et même le petit signal qui annoncerait la grande question. Tout était minutieusement préparé pour que ce moment se déroule à la perfection.

Mais une surprise nous attendait! Les heures d’ouverture affichées sur le site du Jardin botanique n’étaient pas tout à fait exactes. Nous avons donc dû nous dépêcher pour arriver avant la fermeture. Malgré le stress de dernière minute, la demande s’est déroulée comme prévu, remplie d’émotion et de douceur. C’était un pur bonheur de pouvoir l’immortaliser!

Après la grande question, nous avons profité du reste du rendez-vous pour réaliser de magnifiques portraits des nouvelles fiancées. La lumière dorée du golden hour baignait les jardins, créant une ambiance magique et romantique, parfaite pour célébrer leur amour.

Earlier this summer, Valerie reached out with a very special idea. She and her partner Mackenzie were planning a trip to Montreal. Valerie wanted to take advantage of their visit to propose at the Botanical Garden, a place as romantic as it is symbolic. Of course, I was thrilled to photograph such a beautiful surprise!

In the weeks leading up to the session, we planned every detail in secret: the exact meeting time to match the garden’s schedule, the perfect location for the proposal and even the little signal that would announce the big question. Everything was carefully thought out so the moment would unfold perfectly.

But there was one unexpected twist! The opening hours listed on the Botanical Garden’s website were not completely accurate. We had to rush there before closing time, which added quite a bit of last-minute stress. Thankfully, everything went as planned and the proposal was filled with pure emotion and tenderness. It was such a joy to capture!

After the big « yes, » we used the remaining time to take beautiful engagement portraits of the new fiancées. The golden hour light bathed the gardens, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere that perfectly reflected their love.
